Qualifications:

1. Holds valid State of Arizona SLP certificate.

2. Meets all cerification requirements including in the state of Arizona

3. Demonstrates skills of performance in selected area.

 

Reports to:

Special Education Director.

 

Job Goal:

To lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential by working one on one and in small group setting in specific language skills and articulation.

 

Terms of Employment:

1. Instructional

         A. To help plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs,                 interests and abilities of students within speech and language needs.

         B. To help use effective language techniques and materials to implement established               language goals and objectives.

         

2. Climate

         A. To create an environmnet that is conducive to learning and appropriate                               to the maturity and interests of students.

       

         

3. Student Relationships:

         A. To help create educational experiences that provide each student the opportunity to

             develop his/her potential in the areas of Personal Social Adjustment, Decision 

             Making, Positive Self Image, and other life skills.

 

4. Professional:

         A. To promote and follow adopted school district philosophy and policies and

             administrative procedures.

         B. To communicate concerns and ideas with colleagues, students, parents and

             community in a positive, professional, and ethical manner.

         C. To strive to maintain and improve professional competence.

         D. To assume individual responsibilitites which may be assigned by the principal or

             supervisor and which may relate to committee work, student activities student 

             supervision, or other planning and professional assignments.

         F. To maintain accurate, complete, legible and correct records as required by law, 

             district policy, and administrative regulation

         G. To take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment,

             materials, and facilities.

        Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Governing Boards Policy on Evaluation of Certified Peronnel.
